...a little bit about me
I was born in Lyon (3rd district), France.
From there, at the age five my parents and I moved to Lilburn, Georgia (USA) for professional reasons.
A year later, we moved to Oakton, Virginia (USA).
Just after my 16th birthday my mother and I moved back to Lyon because of the unfortunate and sudden death of my father. He lost a six month fight to a metastatic cancer.
During my time in the United States, I attended regular American public schools. From Lilburn Elementary in Georgia to Oakton Elementary followed by Luther Jackson Middle School and finally Oakton High School in northern Virginia, the time spent in these establishments opened my eyes to a wide variety of cultures and enabled me to acquire a rather good level in English and completely loose my French accent when speaking in English. Having thus spent the majority of my childhood speaking English I concider myself completely bilangual. I would like to point out that my parents had fixed French as the language at home.
My parents were never afraid to plan and travel on long road-trips. School holidays were always an occasion to visit this vast country, discover new states and behold extraordinary sights. I am proud to have had the luck to visit over 45 (including Hawaii) of the 50 states.
Upon returning to France I was enrolled in an international high school. I followed the regular French high school courses along with American Literature, US and World History including Geography in English at the Cité Scolaire Internationale Lyon (CSI). There I obtained a Scientific Baccalauréat with a speciality in Life and Earth Sciences and with an American International Option (Bac S spécialité SVT, OIB US). During my last two years at the CSI I was part of the debate team and part of the delegation, both years, which our high school sent to the Hague (Netherlands) to participate in The Hague International Modeled United Nations (THIMUN).

Following my high school studies, I started my university studies in my home town of Lyon at the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL). There I earned my Licence in Earth and Planetary Sciences (STU). From then on I wanted to investigate structural and petrological aspects. This was one of my motivations to pursue my university studies at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis (UNS). There I acquired my Master in Earth Management and Sciences (SGT) entitled Dynamics of Geological Systems and Hazards (DSGA). Afterwards, I went on to continu my studies within the PhD program of UNS and the Géoazur laboritory (GEOAZUR UMR 7329).
